ROKiT Venturi Racing is delighted to announce a multi-year partnership with sustainable lifestyle brand, Ecoalf.
By collaborating with the world’s only Monegasque racing team, Ecoalf will become ROKiT Venturi Racing’s Official Lifestyle Partner from Formula E’s eighth season and beyond.
As one of Formula E’s founding teams, sustainability sits at the core of ROKiT Venturi Racing and together with Ecoalf, we are united in one goal – the pursuit of a new, sustainable way of living.
Just as Monaco’s only racing team advances clean mobility on the track, Ecoalf is renowned for constantly innovating to create a new generation of top-quality products made from recycled and low-impact materials, presenting a solution to the second most-polluting consumer goods industries in the world.
Ecoalf and ROKiT Venturi Racing share a combined mission that extends beyond success, holding a joint commitment to create a lifestyle that balances the needs of the consumer with those of the planet.
From Season 8, Ecoalf’s pioneering sustainable fashion will be worn by ROKiT Venturi Racing’s personnel, with a collection made from 100% sustainable materials. The custom pieces include jackets and vests made from 100% recycled polyester, polos made with recycled cotton, footwear and backpacks made from recycled nylon and even large travel bags made with their Ocean Yarn spun from plastic collected from the bottom of the ocean through their Upcycling the Oceans project*.
These innovative and top-quality recycled fabrics not only provide a sleek look but promote a new, sustainable way of living. The button-down shirts made with recycled cotton save 403 liters of water. Each vest recycles 11.6 plastic bottles into its composition. Across the clothing, footwear, and accessories, the custom gear saved 609,602 liters of water and reduced CO2 eq emissions by 1,883 kg.
“The fashion industry is accountable for a staggering 10% of all global pollution, and in a time where attitudes are changing, we all have a social responsibility to embrace sustainable practices so we can strive towards a sustainable future. With a firm focus on sustainable innovation, ROKiT Venturi Racing and Ecoalf share the same mission and hold a joint commitment to driving essential environmental change. By using 100% sustainable and recycled materials and as a Certified B Company, Ecoalf is pioneering change in the fashion industry and is redefining the whole supply chain process by employing sustainable practices from design to the shelf. We’re proud to welcome Ecoalf as our Official Lifestyle Partner for Season 8, their clothing perfectly demonstrates that you don’t need to compromise on style to be environmentally conscious.”
“The fashion and automobile industries are perceived as having a negative impact on the Earth, but it doesn’t have to be that way. ROKiT Venturi Racing has demonstrated that electric vehicles not only fight climate change, but they are also top-performing. That is exactly our mission at Ecoalf, to showcase that being sustainable doesn’t signify inferior quality or performance. We can recreate these top-quality characteristics, and even surpass them, but leave a positive environmental impact. It is through collaborations like this that we can transcend our individual industries to foster a sustainable lifestyle for the future.”
Ecoalf was born in 2009 with the vision to stop using natural resources in a careless way to ensure those of the next generation, to accomplish this, their mission is to create a new generation of recycled products with the same quality and design as the best non-recycled. For the past 10 years, Ecoalf has developed more than 400 recycled fabrics RECYCLING over 250 million plastic bottles, 80 tonnes of DISCARDED fishing nets, USED tires, thousands of tonnes of POST-INDUSTRIAL cotton and wool… saving over 63 million liters of water in their last recycled cotton collection.
Since 2018, Ecoalf is a proud member of the B-Corp community with the goal to be the best company FOR the world. Awarded with the Schwab Foundation’s social innovators of the year 2020.
In 2015, through the Ecoalf Foundation, Ecoalf started Upcycling the Oceans: a worldwide adventure that is helping to remove marine debris from the bottom of the oceans and give it a second life through recycling. This pioneering initiative has three objectives: to remove litter that damages marine ecosystems from our seas; giving a second life to recovered waste with a circular economy view, and raising awareness about the global issue that marine litter presents. Today they collaborate with more than 3,000 fishermen collecting over 700 tonnes of waste from the bottom of the ocean. Their mission is to unite more 10,000 fishermen across the Mediterranean by 2025 to rid the sea of plastic pollution.
